The Baneasa Building D project is a fifteen story commercial office building located in Bucharest, Romania.
The buildings unique design begins with two prominent, intersecting volumes that contain an intermediary terrace on the upper floors. The terrace features an exterior stair that provides access to a secondary terrace above the colonnade, surrounding the garden on the ground floor.
The ground floor encompasses a partial interior garden along with a double height atrium, which provides spectacular views from the first floor elevator lobbies.
The overall structure of the building is constructed of steel and metal deck, in addition to concrete slabs. The building will also include numerous operable windows that will adequately condition each space. All mechanical equipment is energy efficient and will use recycled sources of energy where cost efficient. The interior materials are also environmentally friendly where justified.
The buildings exterior skin is a combination of glass curtain wall and prefabricated concrete panels. This system was selected due to an accelerated construction schedule.
The exceptional form and interesting design pattern complements the entire office complex and will add the much needed architectural diversity to the surrounding area.
