Mihai Radu Architects was a finalist for the invitation-only competition sponsored by SensiBlu, the largest Romanian pharmaceutical products retailer. The intent of the competition was to refresh the SensiBlu brand by creating a contemporary image for their retail outlets.
The client requested a space that conveys the idea of affordable products as well as efficient and friendly spaces where people can easily orient and find the products. To create a palate of new ideas, Mihai Radu Architects presented three options. In order to achieve these goals, all three options used a set of strategies that involved studied use of light and an improved redesign of the display elements. Special attention was paid to create an attractive and inviting exterior for both day and night operations. Another common characteristic for all three options involved the use of sustainable materials and finishes.
Option 1 introduces the corporate colors through large graphic images. The overall image is one of a slick, clean, geometric space. Floating shelves increase the display area while still allowing un-obstructed views of the interior. The use of colored display light boxes keeps the products organized as well as functioning as a playful way-find signage system for the customers.
Option 2 is proposes a more organic image and switches from the typical green and blue corporate colors to a more soft color palette.
Option 3 has fluid lines that connect the entire space from ceiling, walls to shelves and displays while creating a sense of movement, invitation and orientation for the guests inside a space that can be crowded with both customers and products.
In addition, Mihai Radu Architects provided fresh ideas for a updated logo in collaboration with Mucca Design.
