  IZVOR PARK

Bucharest, Romania

This large scale mixed use development is to replace an unmaintained park situated at the south east side of the Bucharest City Center. The design intention was to generate a lively urban landscape and to preserve the park like atmosphere. In order to accomplish these goals our design uses extensive green roofs. Their irregular geometry is a result of the spatial and functional needs, which mimic the natural landscape of the site. The four towers, inspired by Brancusi’s Endless Column, contain a large amount of concentrated space in order to free as much space as possible at the ground level. The tower contains a mix of office and residential spaces along with a hotel. The retail and multiplex spaces are developed along the Dambovita river. This 50 ha development is scheduled for completion within a ten year period. Estimated project cost — $500 million.
